Our VIRAL Project “took off” a little less than 2 years ago. At our kick-off meeting in Rome, we still wore masks, and the sector had yet to begin its recovery. The spectre of long-term unemployment for workers, and ongoing financial losses for airlines, were on our minds. Little did we know that, by the following summer, the recovery would be in full swing and labour shortages would be one of the biggest challenges facing the sector.
