On January 25, 2023, the European Commission issued a communication called Strengthening Social Dialogue in the European Union: Harnessing its full Potential for Managing Fair Transitions. The communication was accompanied by a Proposal for a Council Recommendation. In these proposals the European Commission highlights social dialogue as a cornerstone of the European social model.
